Sherpas Scaled Mount Everest after two Years gap

A team of nine Sherpas successfully scaled the world's highest peak Mount Everest on Wednesday just after two years. It was made after fatal avalanches in 2014 and 2015.

About 16 Sherpa guides were killed on an avalanche in the Khumbu Icefall in 2014 whereas at least 18 climbers and guides were killed on an avalanche triggered by a 7.8 magnitude Earthquake on April 25, 2015 and May 12, 2015.

Gyanendra Shrestha, an official of the Department of Tourism, said those reaching the top are the Icefall Doctors who prepare the route up to Mt. Everest. According to the Department of Tourism Neema Chiri Sherpa, Aang Temba Sherpa, Pasang Tenji Sherpa, Mingma Chiri Sherpa, Gyaljen Dorje Sherpa, Aang Gyaljen Sherpa, Mingma Sherpa, Lakpa Chiri Sherpa and Shere Gyaljen Sherpa reached the Everest peak on Wednesday.
