Asar 15 - Nepalese Unique Festival of Nepali Farmers

According to Nepali calendar, Asar 15 is celebrated as the National Paddy Day or Rice Plantation Day, Dahi Chiura Khane Din, Rastriya Ropain Diwas which falls on (29 June, 2016 this year) as per the Gregorian calendar in Nepal. The Government of Nepal has announced Asar 15 as the National Paddy Day to encourage the farmers to celebrate the rice plantation as the festival.

The day has a significance importance in the agricultural tourism of Nepal as the tourists visiting Monsoon season in Nepal will have opportunity to explore and taking part in rice plantation with the Nepalese farmers playing with mud and water. Tourist who love to work in community and volunteer can join during the festival as the agricultural volunteering in remote areas of Nepal.

From Government, National and International organizations, private sector, Asar 15 is celebrated by organizing the different programs. In this day, even the political leaders are also invited to take part in rice plantation.
