Dhaulagiri Base Camp Bustling with Climbers

Dhaulagiri, the seventh highest mountain peak in the world standing at 8167m high from sea level is bustling with mountaineers this year.

The mountain peak is popular for climbing and expedition and during the peak seasons, there are crowd of climbers and local sherpa guides making an attempt on the summit.

Those who do not climb the peak, go its foothills for mountain sightseeing at the base camp. Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is said to be the most challenging trekking trail in Nepal. From the base camp of Mt. Dhaulagiri, there are two routes going to the summit and to the circuit trail.

Spring and Autumn seasons are the busy time for peak climbing, expeditions and trekking in Nepal.

With the starting of climbing season, pile of garbages like cloths, oxygen cylinders, bottles, utensils and plastics left by climbers are accumulated at the base camp. This has been spoiled the natural beauty of the mountain area.

To save the beauty of mountain area, the garbages generated should be brought back and properly managed after mountaineering.

Tourism Rebounds at Ghorepani Poon Hill
The most popular trekking destination for sunrise views and cultural diversity, Ghorepani Poon Hill has gradually started recovering in the Annapurna Conservation Area Project after the massive earthquake in 2015. The hiking spot is popular for both the domestic and international tourist.

According to the record maintained by the Tourist Police Office, Ghorepani, 19 thousand 348 tourists visited Ghorepani in 2072 BS and the number reached 45,685 in the succeeding year.

Tourist from all over the world visit this place for amazing sunrise views over a dozen of mountain peaks from the poon hill tower.

The tourism place offers the glimpses of rhododendron forests, typical local gurung and magar culture and villages. There are plenty of home-stay, tea houses and tourist standard hotels with all the basic amenities.
