Chandragiri Hiking is the recently opened one day hiking route in near to Kathmandu valley. Chandragiri Hills is also known as the evergreen hill and hiking the trail is short and easy. It is the best option for you to get outside of the crowd Kathmandu valley for some hours and be relaxed on the hillside. From the top of the hill, you can view the whole Kathmandu valley along with the majestic Himalayan ranges Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishanker and other snow capped peaks. Laying at the height of 2560m from sea level at west of Kathmandu, Chandragiri Hill offers the awesome views that cannot be explained in words.


There are two options for hiking to Chandragiri Hill
Chandragiri Day Hike from Hattiban
Chandragiri hiking from Hattiban starts from a Hindu Temple at Matatirtha or Hotel Outlook INN. From here, you will hike three hour steep ascend to Chhap Bhanjyang having the spectacular views of snow covered mountain peaks. It takes about 4 to 5 hours of hiking to reach the Chandragiri Temple. On the way to Chandragiri, we climb up Champa Devi Temple and Bhasmasur hill, from there we will have a wide range view of Kathmandu valley, kulekhani and Himalayan ranges. Encounter the various species of birds including Grey Wagtail, Steppe Eagle, Kingfishers, Common Myna, Indian Pond Heron, Oriental Turtle Dove, Red-vented Bulbul, Great Egret, House Crow, House Sparrow, Little Egret, Spotted Dove and so many others. After Chandragiri temple darshan, the trail continues two and half hour decend to Hattiban Resort. Drive back to Kathmandu Hotel by private vehicle.

Chandragiri Hill by Cable Car
Chandragiri Temple darshan tour is the hottest trip for both Nepalese and International tourist today. With the newly built cable car. For this you will travel Changradiri Hill by newly installed 2.5km cable car from the base station at Godam, near Thankot.

Time of Operation: Cable car would be operating from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays, and 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends and public holidays.
