Visit Nepal Year 2020

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has planned to organize Visit Nepal 2020 to attract more tourists. The government has set a target to bring in two million tourists each year by 2020.

Since Gorkha earthquake 2015, the tourism of Nepal is not like the years before and the number of tourists arriving in Nepal has been decreased. So, MOCTCA has unveiled the action plan to organize the Visit Nepal Year 2020. Earlier, the MOCTCA had planned to celebrate Visit Nepal Year in 2018 but this has been put off due to the delay in construction of tourism infrastructure like Airports, heritage sites, roads. The government has planned to complete the construction of International airport in Lumbini and expansion of Tribhuvan International Airport before Visit Nepal Year. Likewise, the reconstruction of major heritage sites is expected to be completed before 2020.
