Sailung Trek

Sailung trek is newly discovered hiking route in Dolakha district. The hiking trail take you to Thulo Sailung (3146m) from where you will have 360 degree panoramic views of a large Himalayan views from Makalu to Dhaulagiri. It is also known as Indigenous Peoples Trail trek or Sailung Virgin Trek.

Thulo Sailung

Thulo Sailung is a small village of inhabitant of Tamang community that gives you an experience of natural and cultural blend with ethnic diversity and their languages. It is located at an altitude of 3146m southwest from charikot at saya Thumka hill.

From the hill top of Sailung, Mt. Everest, Mt. Fishtail, Ganesh Himal, Mt Makalu, Rolwaling Himalayan ranges, Mt Lhotse, Mt Amadablam are visible clearly. Sailung has been growing as the most popular touristic area near Kathmandu valley for the domestic tourists and the best place for playing snow during winter season.

Snowfall at Sailung Hill

It has been also developed as the religious and natural touristic area as Sailungeshwor Mahadev temple is famous for Hindu pilgrims. During the festival Janai Purnima, balachaturdarshi and the Bara Barse Mela, it receives maximum number of devotees.
