Balaju Baisdhara festival - Full Moon Day of April
Balaju Baisdhara festival or mela is one of the popular cultural event in Nepal.
The festival took place in the first full moon day (Purnima) of Baisakh month according to lunar calendar.
This is the fair of 22 taps located at Balaju.
The festival is celebrated by both Hindus and Buddhists and believed that if anybody take bath in the 22 taps, they get rid of sines and acquires purification of body and mind.
There is flower garden, pond, temples and lord Vishnu statue as in Budhanilkantha.
It is believed that to worship Lord Vishnu, the royal family can't go to Budhanilkantha so they built Narayan temple and statue to worship.
