Latest Update about Tibet Travel Visa and Permit

Chinese Embassy of Nepal has been announced not to accept the visa application for all foreigners traveling to Tibet and mainland China from 18 September to October 29. Embassy will no more issue the Tibet travel visa and permit for 10 days. So, travelers who want to travel Tibet or China need to plan their holidays from October 28th.

Some days ago, Tibet Kerung border was opened for foreign travelers for Kathmandu Tibet Lhasa overland tour. The one and only the border, Tatopani border was blocked due to the massive Earthquake in 2015 and after that there were no overland service between Kathmandu and China. Now travelers can visit Tibet by the October 29th. Overland tour from Kathmandu to Kailash Mansarovar is popular but due to the Earthquake, the road trip was blocked.
