Who were the first man and woman to climb Mount Everest?

First man to climb Mount Everest

Tenzing Norgay Sherpa from Nepal and Sir Edmund Hillary from New Zealand were the first persons to climb Mount Everest in 1953. They submitted Mount Everest at 11:30A.M, on May 29, 1953. But it is believed that George Mallory and Irving made the summit in 1927 (It is not confirmed). Sadly, Mallory and Irving couldn't get back and died on the their way down. Their dead bodies were found at 8,000+ meters. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary were the first submitter who returned alive after successful Everest Expedition.


First Woman to Climb Mount Everest

Junko Tabei from Japan was first woman to climb Mount Everest on 16 May 1975. After a long training period, Tabei with her sherpa guide Ang Tsering, became the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. She also set a record to ascend all seven summits by climbing the highest peak on every continent.

Who is Junko Tabei

Junko Tabei was a Japanese mountaineer who born on 22 September 1939 in Fukushima, Japan and died on 20 October 2016 at the age of 77 in Saitama, Japan. She started mountain climbing at the age of 10, who join mountaineering class climbing to Mount Nasu. In earlier days, she climbed Mount Fuji in Japan and the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps. In 1972, she was recognized as a mountain climber in Japan.
